Multimedia: |
Awarded to the game with the
best use of images and/or sounds.

| Best Writing: |
Awarded to the game with the
best story, atmosphere and use of the language.

| Best Technical
Implementation: |
Awarded to the game that had the
cleanest technical implemenation.

| Most Innovative: |
Awarded to the game that best
stretched the limits of the parser, was the most creative in its
presentation and best redefined what is considered to be AIF.

Best Humour
|
Awarded to the funniest game of
the year.
|
| Best New Author: |
Awarded to the best author whose
first game was released this year.
|
Best Beta-Tester
|
Awarded to the best
beta-tester. This winner is to be selected by authors whose games
are eligible for 2007 Erin Awards.

| Best Short Game: |
Awarded to the best 'short' game
(generally of the approximate size of a mini-comp game, although the rules
are less hard and fast as in a mini-comp) of the year. Note that games
eligible for this category are not eligible for "Best Game of the Year". |

Year: |
Awarded to the best game of the
year (not including 'short' games).

| Badman Memorial
Lifetime Achievement Award: |
Awarded to one influential
figure in the AIF community that has helped direct and shape it into
what it has become today. Previous winners are Badman (2002), Choices (2003), NewKid (2004), Christopher Cole (2005)
and A. Bomire and Scarlett Herring (2006), so they are not eligible for this year's award.
